Mara Maisha Camp is a luxury camp in Masai Mara, located about 4.5 kilometers from Talek Gate. The new luxury tented camp, found in Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve offers 40 fully furnished luxurious units complete with dining & bar facilities.
The tents, which are built on top of elevated concrete blocks are quite spacious, and are divided into double tents, twin tents, triple tents and family tents.
The family tents can accommodate 5 people.
All the beds at Mara Maisha Camp have been custom designed, and are locally made using bush logs.
Inside each tent, you will find a flush toilet, hot shower, mosquito nets, clothes rack, carpet, a writing desk and wash basin.
The Camp has an open terraced restaurant, a bar, a reception area and a swimming pool which overlooks the open plains, making it a great location for watching the sunset over a cold drink.
From Mara Maisha Camp, one can easily access game drives within the Masai Mara National Reserve through the Talek Gate which leads to the wildlife rich areas of Tipilikwani, Keekorok, Hammerkop, Olkenju Rongai all the way to the Looking out area at the Mara River.
On the other hand, clients staying at Mara Maisha Camp can easily access the game rich but less crowded areas of Fig Tree, Ol Kiombo and Double Cross through Mpuai gate which is only a few minutes’ drive from the camp.
For those flying to Masai Mara, the camp is accessible from Ol Kiombo airstrip which is about 35 minutes away.
If travelling to Masai Mara by road, there are three routes from Nairobi that lead to Mara Maisha Camp.
ROUTE 1: Nairobi-Narok town – Sekenani Gate – Talek Gate – Mara Maisha Camp – 4 hr 50 min (260 km)
ROUTE 2: Nairobi-Narok town – Sekenani gate – C14 – C12Rekero Junction – Talek Gate-Mara Maisha Camp – 5 hr 30 min (280 km)
ROUTE 3: Nairobi-Narok town- Aitong – Koyaki – Mara Maisha Camp – 5 hr 30 min (304 km)
