Great Rift Lakes and Masai Mara Safari – 4 Days

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve
At your Hotel, you will be met by the Essenia Safari Manager for briefing. You will be introduced to your driver/guide after which you will proceed north of Nairobi north into the Great Rift valley with a brief stopover at the view point. The Great Rift Valley is one of the wonders of the world, stretching from the Syria, down through Africa, stretching as far as Mozambique. The mesmerizing view, as you approach from Nairobi, Kenya is breathtaking. The ground suddenly disappears from under you to show the huge expanse of the great rift, stretching into the horizon of miles in either direction. Whilst this stunning introduction to the Rift valley is amazing in itself, actually descending and exploring the Lakes area of the Rift in Kenya is a "not to be missed" opportunity. Proceed via the Masai town of Narok through endless savannah plains dotted with acacias and finally into the Masai Mara reserve in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Day 2: Masai Mara
Depending on the Wildebeest migration patterns and the weather, Early morning breakfast followed by a full day of game drives within the reserve. The Masai Mara is famous for its black mane lions and the annual wildebeest migration. This is probably one of Kenya’s most visited reserve with an extraordinary density of animals including the Big five and many other varieties of plains game. The Mara River cuts through the Mara and Serengeti eco systems giving life to the both reserves finally pouring out into the Lake Victoria. Impressive and most notable is the wildebeest, zebra and gazelle instinct led migration from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Mara in Kenya. This journey is coupled by numerous obstacles which makes it even more magnificent. You will have a picnic lunch and continue with the game drives arriving at the lodge in the evening for a well-deserved rest and hot relaxing shower. Day 3: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru
Depart Masai Mara national reserve after an early breakfast. You will have a brief stop over at the Masai town of Narok after which you will proceed towards Lake Nakuru. On the way you will pass the Mount Longonot and the beautiful rift valley Lakes Naivasha, and Elementaita before finally checking into the Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch and your afternoon game drive. The Lake Nakuru ecosystem comprises of the lake, surrounded by mainly wooded and bushy grasslands. The park supports a wide ecological diversity with Flamingos (Greater and Lesser) and other water birds being the major attractions of the area. The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the white rhino and buffaloes and a variety of terrestrial birds numbering nearly 450 species. Day 4: Lake Baringo - Lake Nakuru
Early morning game viewing drive at the Nakuru National Park. This is the best time to view most cat species as they tend to be more active in the early morning and late evening. Return to your camp for breakfast as you prepare to leave Lake Nakuru mid-morning for the capital of Kenya, Nairobi. Arrive in Nairobi where the safari ends early afternoon. END OF KENYA RIFT SAFARI.
