This Tanzania Highlight safari takes you through some of Tanzania's most dramatic scenery and offers an excellent chance of seeing the Big five. No other safari in Tanzania offers the thrill of seeing animals in their natural habitat roaming freely through some of the world's spectacular scenery.

Day 01
Kilimanjaro / Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. You will be received by your Essenia Safari manager and transferred to your Arusha hotel for check in, briefing and an overnight stay.

Day 02
Arusha - Lake Manyara
Collection from your hotel in Arusha by your safari driver guide after which you depart to Lake Manyara. With three distinct habitats namely swampy groundwater forest, open floodplains and acacia woodlands, this park offers a lot of wildlife viewing opportunities. Plains game include; buffalos, zebras, giraffes and wildebeest herds grazing on the grassy and marshy plains among other animals. You also stand a chance to see Manyara's legendary tree-climbing lions.
Arrive in time for lunch and afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park.

Day 03
Lake Manyara - Serengeti
After breakfast, depart Lake for the Serengeti National Park. You will have a stop over at the Oldupai Gorge. It was here, that the anthropologists Dr. Louis and Dr. Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of 'Nutcracker Man' and 'Handy Man', both very significant links in the chain of human evolution. Leaving the highlands behind, you will descend into the heart of wild Africa - the Serengeti National Park - with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area therefore attracting most wildlife found in the Serengeti eco-system. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and afternoon game drive.

Day 04
Serengeti
Full day game drive in Serengeti National Park. Although Serengeti is world famous for the annual wildebeest and other ungulates’ migration, the park is well known for its healthy stock of other resident wildlife, particularly the "Big Five", named for the five most prized trophies taken by game hunters. Natural habitats in Serengeti include savannah grass lands dotted with acacia trees, magnificent rock outcroppings called kopjes, swamps, dense bush as well as streams and rivers. They provide different opportunities for tracking different animals which is very adventurous.
Return to the lodge late evening after a whole day in the African jungle.

Day 05
Serengeti - Ngorongoro
Early breakfast and depart Serengeti with an en route morning game drive, proceed to Ngorongoro Crater rim. The Ngorongoro Crater is an amazingly incredible formation of nature. It is part of the larger Ngorongoro Conservation Area which covers more than 8,300 square kilometres. The Crater, an "eighth wonder of the natural world," not official is an International Biosphere with over 20,000 animals thriving in its near perfect conditions. This amazingly volcanic feature bares different habitats that include; savannah grassland, swamps and marshes, forests and lakes resulting to a staggering variety of animals; lions, zebras, buffaloes, rhinos, elephants, gazelles and wildebeests and enormous varieties of terrestrial and water birds.

Day 06
Ngorongoro - Tarangire
After breakfast, check out and enjoy a leisurely drive to Tarangire National Park. (You may optionally enjoy the Ngorongoro crater tour this morning instead of last afternoon). Check in and lunch with afternoon at leisure.

Day 07
Tarangire - Arusha / Kilimanjaro
After breakfast, proceed for a game drive in Tarangire National Park, The Park is famous for its huge number of elephants, baobab trees dotting the hilly sections and big cats. There are also herds of resident zebra, wildebeest, waterbuck, giraffe, and olive baboons in addition to the less common animals. With more than 550 bird species, the park is a haven for bird enthusiasts who can expect so see dozens of species even in the dry season. River Tarangire is the life line in this Park especially during the wet season.
You then drive back to Arusha for drop off in Arusha town Hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your evening flight.
