Sarova Mara Game Camp is a mid-range luxury tented camp located in Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve. It is part of the Sarova Hotels chain of lodges and camps that include The Sarova Stanley, The Sarova Panafric, Sarova Lion Hill Lodge, Sarova Woodlands Hotel, Sarova Shaba Lodge, Sarova Salt Lick and Sarova Taita Hills Lodge.

Located only 2.4 Kilometers from Sekenani Gate, this tented camp is surrounded by rolling plains that are teeming with plenty of plains game as well as big cats. The camp is situated right on the center of the migration path where Wildebeest, gazelles and zebras pass during the migration months July to September. The area surrounding the camp is home to a pride of Lions that has risen to 24, and there is a regular sighting of a Black Rhino.

By virtue of its location in the heart of Masai Mara and layout, Sarova Mara Game Camp offers an unparalleled plethora of activities and experiences from luxury tented living to bird-watching and also a unique insight into the Maasai culture at the neighboring Maasai village.

The camp has 75 tents which comprise of 51 standard tents, 20 club tents and 2 family tents. Inter connecting rooms and rooms for physically challenged guests are available on request.

The 20 club tents which are luxurious and extremely spacious offer breathtaking views of the vast Mara plains, and are decorated in whites and soothing earthly colours. They have large beds, wardrobes, loungers and a desk. In the bathrooms, there is a shower with sinks and a bath also added. In addition, the club tents are fitted with glass panel doors and a deck outside, offering an ideal set up for private dinning and game watching. Other amenities in club tents include a mini bar, bath robes, hair dryer and slippers. On all tent categories, tea & coffee making facilities, a safe deposit box, and European style power sockets (220v – 240 v) are provided. Another main difference between standard and club tents is that standard tents have zip out fronts while club tents have an extra wooden door.

It takes about 5 hours to drive here from Nairobi, about 20 minutes from Keekorok airstrip and only 5 minutes from Sekenani gate.

NB: Sarova Mara Game Camp Management has been undertaking a major refurbishment of their standard and family tents. As of January 2020, 21 tents had been upgraded to deluxe tents, with the rest to be ready by June 2021. The upgraded tents are being sold at a slightly higher price compared to the standard ones.
