Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge
Situated inside Lake Nakuru National Park, Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge perched on a range of hills that form the western limits of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, offering spectacular views over the vastness of Africa.
The western edge of the park where Nakuru Sopa Lodge is located offers a vantage point from where one enjoys of the lake, the bushy grass and woodlands that characterize Lake Nakuru National Park.
With over 450 bird species, Lake Nakuru Lodge is an ornithologist paradise, and was the first site to receive Important Bird Area (IBA) celebrity status in Africa in recognition of its outstanding value to bird conservation. The park is also home to over 65 different mammal species. The main attraction to the park is its birdlife, including the seasonal lesser and greater flamingos, pelicans, and the rare Rothschild Giraffes and Rhinos that one has a high chance of seeing. Big Cats like Lions and Leopard can be sighted here. Of late, the park has become one of the few destinations in Africa where one can see the rare Tree Climbing Lions.
The fairly modern Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge which is 2,000 metres above sea level and overlooks the Naishi airstrip has 60 rooms. Two of them are inter connecting while two others are accessible by wheel chair. Naishi airstrip is 30 minutes flight from Wilson Airport is only 15 minutes’ drive from the lodge. All Rooms fitted with double-size beds and balconies. Triple rooms and baby cots are provided on request. Full-length windows allow guests a panoramic view of the park, the Lake and beyond. There is a furnished private balcony accessed through a rear glass door. From here, one can relax viewing animals that visit a nearby watering hole to quench their thirst.
Wi-fi in public areas, bar, lounge, restaurant, swimming pool, gift shop, telephones, mini bars, and TV in the main bar are some of the facilities found at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge. Meals are mainly offered buffet style with local and international cuisines served.
