Base Camp Masai Mara

Base Camp Masai Mara is a mid-range eco camp located in the Talek area in central Masai Mara. The camp which overlooks the Talek River is located at the end of Masai Mara, facing the reserve. Your stay at Base Camp Masai Mara will feel more of a stay in a home, rather than at a travel destination. Guests are treated more than just visitors and are allowed to immerse themselves in the local culture, as part of the Masai Community.

The tropical forest within which the camp is built allows you to co-exist with monkeys and birds right from outside your tent. The Masai Mara is just across the River, so you are guaranteed of a front row seat to the over 85 mammal and 450 bird species that the Masai Mara is world renowned for. You have the highest wildlife concentration in the world, THE BIG 5 and the Wildebeest Migration right in front of you.

Base Camp Masai Mara has 17 double River side tents. Two of them are family tent, while one is a honeymoon tent. The dense riverbed foliage allows for maximum privacy and comfort, without compromising the view of the Masai Mara National Reserve. All tents at Base Camp Masai Mara are fitted with bio-flush toilets, solar-heated showers (one indoor and one open air safari shower), and a private balcony, where you have the direct view of the Masai Mara National Reserve.

The family tents have two separate wings, each featuring a double bed with a shared bathroom area. The tent offers a larger deluxe balcony to give families or groups a chance to socialize in privacy.

Base Camp Masai Mara provides the perfect base for exploring nature conservation like the Basecamp Nature Forest and Community-based initiatives like the Masai Beading Center (Basecamp Masai Brand) to promote & preserve local culture and talent.
