On this safari, we discover Murchison Falls and explore River Nile (the world’s longest River, followed by encounter with Chimpanzees at Kibale Forest and Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi. More nights can be added on the safari for those who wish to traveler at a slower pace.
Day 01

Arrival Entebbe Airport - Kampala

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will then transfer you to Serena Kampala Hotel (High End) or Cassia Lodge (Mid-Range) for an overnight and dinner. Meal plan Dinner.
Day 02

Kampala - Murchison Falls National Park

You will be picked from your hotel in Kampala at 0730 hrs. Begin the panoramic drive north-west through the famous Luwero Triangle and, travel to Masindi via the Ziwa Rhino Project. A visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking is a must never miss experience. After lunch, you will have a stopover at the Boomu women community project, thereafter drive to Murchison Falls at the spectacularly situated site at the top of the fall where you can see the Nile’s moving beauty. Marvel at the Nile, compressing from up to 1 km squeezing through a 7-meter canyon dropping 45 meters with a thunderous roar creating a beautiful rainbow, a plume of spray and the best thing that ever happened to the Nile…” the Murchison Falls “. Enjoy the sunset as you drive to Paraa Safari Lodge (High End) or Murchison River Lodge (Mid-Range) /similar for overnight and dinner. Meal plan: Lunch and Dinner.
Day 03

Murchison Falls

Begin the day with a cup of African Coffee ready for an early morning game drive. Your guide will help you spot Elephant, Lion, Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, hartebeest, Waterbuck, Oribi, Bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard. Return to the hotel for breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon you make a boat trip towards the Murchison Falls. Carefully watched by crocodiles, hundreds of hippos, buffaloes, water birds, apes and all the other thirsty wildlife that the Nile attracts you go to the bottom of the 43 meters high and famous Murchison Falls, which approaches you with a thunderous sound. a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. This is also a zone of many bird species like Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork. Overnight and dinner at Paraa Safari Lodge (High End) or Murchison River Lodge / similar. Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 04

Murchison Falls - Fort Portal - Kibale Forest National Park

Breakfast at your lodge. Check out and enjoy an all-day drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal through verdant countryside and past traditional homesteads and farms along the Albertine Rift escarpments. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon. Meals and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge (High End) or Primate Lodge- Forest Cottages (Mid-Range). This is a stunning location overlooking a dramatic Crater Lake and the fabled “Mountains of the Moon”. Meal plan: (B, L, D)
Day 05

Chimpanzee Trekking at Kibale Forest National Park - Bwindi

Half day search of chimpanzee and 10 other primates including phoestes, red Colobus, blue, red tailed and grey cheeked mangabey. The guide will provide detailed explanations, not only on primates, but also on all the forest fauna and flora and will ensure that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and seeing primates at close quarters. After lunch, proceed to Bwindi via Queen Elizabeth National Park and here you may spot wildlife including Elephants, Buffaloes, among others. Bwindi is the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. Dinner and overnight stay at either Buhoma Lodge/Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Safari Lodge (High End) or Silver Back Lodge/Chameleon Hill Lodge (Mid-range). Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 06

Bwindi - Kampala / Entebbe / Depart (10 hrs + drive)

After breakfast, return to Kampala, then proceed to Entebbe, with lunch enroute and stop over at the Igongo cultural centre and the Equator Uganda. Arrival back in Kampala followed by transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight. (If you have a morning or day time flight, you will need an extra night in Kampala or Entebbe. Day 07

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Begin the day with breakfast ready for trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you rain jacket, drinking water, snacks and jungle boots. The guides will lead you inside the jungle in search of the shy Primates. Tracking the rare Mountain Gorillas, is perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth as you come face to face with the gentle giants. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but it is well worth the effort. The afternoon is spent on a foot safari around the local communities living around the park. Dinner and overnight stay at either Buhoma Lodge/Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Safari Lodge (High End) or Silver Back Lodge/Chameleon Hill Lodge (Mid-Range). Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
